Erin Collins, PT, MSPT

your functional wellness expert

I created Modern Physio to give women the kind of care I wished I had, care that sees the whole person, not just the symptoms.

With more than 20 years in the health and wellness field, including 17 as a licensed physical therapist and a decade as a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist, I bring a mix of experience and empathy to every session. My training in Pilates, manual therapy, functional medicine, and nervous system regulation helps me look beyond what hurts to uncover why it’s happening.

Here, you’ll never feel dismissed or rushed. You’ll feel seen, supported, and confident in your body’s ability to heal.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Holistic Physical Therapy mean?

Holistic physical therapy looks at your body as an interconnected ecosystem. I practice integrative physical therapy using a holistic approach informed by functional medicine, considering how your movement, stress, sleep, nutrition, and environment all work together. It’s about treating the whole person, not just one symptom or system.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start physical therapy?

No. You can book an appointment directly with me. Ohio’s direct access laws allow physical therapists to evaluate and treat patients without a referral.

What can I expect at my first physical therapy appointment?

Your first physical therapy visit is a 2-hour evaluation where we’ll talk through your history, goals, and current symptoms. I’ll complete a full assessment, explain what’s happening, and outline a plan that fits your lifestyle.

Is Pilates only for advanced exercisers?

Not at all. Pilates is for everybody. Whether you’re new to movement or rebuilding after injury, I’ll adapt every exercise to your comfort and ability.

Do you take insurance?

Modern Physio is an out-of-network, cash-based practice, meaning I don’t work with or communicate directly with insurance companies. This allows me to focus entirely on your care without the limitations or requirements of insurance. Payment is due at the time of service, and HSA or FSA funds are accepted.
