Here are the most common questions women ask when searching for personalized care in Columbus—so you can feel confident taking the next step.
I help women with a wide range of concerns including back pain, hip pain, headache, mild pelvic floor dysfunction, postural issues, chronic pain, and wanting to avoid or delay surgery.
Many women also come to me when they feel “stuck” in their healing journey—dealing with unexplained symptoms, recurring pain, or frustration from not getting answers elsewhere.
At The Modern Physio, I combine traditional physical therapy with Pilates-based rehab, manual therapy, dry needling, nervous system regulation, and integrative wellness strategies.
My approach has always been through a brain-first, total body system lens while always helping build autonomy in my patients. This has allowed my patients to have deeper, long-lasting results without being dependent on never-ending in-person sessions.
My treatment sessions are a bit longer to pack in value and are always one-on-one, highly personalized, and designed to fit your lifestyle—not a cookie-cutter program. You’ll never be rushed or left alone with a set of exercises.
If you’re experiencing ongoing discomfort or pain, recovering from an injury, or noticing limitations in how you move, physical therapy is the best place to start. Physical therapy sessions may also include manual therapies and/or dry needling which are not a part of Pilates sessions.
If you’re not in pain and want to build strength, improve posture, or prevent future injuries, a private or duo Pilates session may be the right fit.
Many women begin with physical therapy and transition into Pilates-based wellness for long-term strength and confidence.
Not sure where to start? We’ll help guide you during your initial consultation.
While I am not a specialized pelvic floor physical therapist, I do treat minor pelvic floor concerns and always am mindful of the pelvic floor's role and interplay with all of the body systems.
Since I began treating over 17 years ago, I have always strongly believed that you cannot fully treat a person, especially one with spinal pain, hip pain, or even foot pan, without considering the pelvic floor.
I do not perform internal examinations and refer to my specialized pelvic floor colleagues should more specific care be appropriate.
The Modern Physio is a cash-based physical therapy clinic and does not contract with insurance providers. This model allows me to give you longer, one-on-one sessions without the restrictions that come with insurance-driven care.
Instead of being rushed through short visits or handed off to multiple providers, you’ll spend the entire session working directly with Erin.
Many of my clients find this approach saves time and leads to better results—because your care plan is based on your needs, not on what an insurance company decides is “medically necessary.”
If you’d like, I can provide a detailed receipt (called a superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company. Depending on your plan, these may be applied toward your out-of-network benefits and could be eligible for reimbursement.

Yes! I offer advanced manual therapy techniques and dry needling as part of personalized treatment sessions.
Manual therapy may include hands-on techniques to release tight muscles, improve joint mobility, enhance circulation and lymphatic flow, and even help with nervous system regulation.
Dry needling can help reduce muscle pain and tension, restore proper activation, and even shift the nervous system into a calmer state.
These treatments are just two tools in my toolbox and are not mandatory for any physical therapy session.
I designed my visits to give you the time, attention, and value that you deserve.
Physical therapy Initial Evaluations are typically 90-120 minutes. I allow 90 minutes for follow-up sessions, though I understand busy patients may prefer to end these at 60-75 minutes.
This extended format allows me to focus on your specific needs, provide hands-on treatment, educate you on the knowledge and tools to care for yourself properly between visits, and ensure you leave a clear plan—not rushed through a standard, insurance-driven model.
These longer visits also typically allow for lesser visits required to reach your goals.
The Modern Physio is conveniently located in the heart of Grandview Heights, just minutes from downtown Columbus, Ohio. Free and paid parking is available on either side of the building and on-street.
Our studio-style clinic offers a private, welcoming space designed for comfort and healing. Please note, I am currently located on the second floor of a building, requiring the ability to negotiate stairs to see me.
