Integrative manual therapy combines advanced hands-on techniques with nervous system and movement retraining to help your body heal from the inside out.
Each session is as intuitive as it is science-driven, producing powerful results. Advanced manual therapies address underlying pain patterns, tension, and dysfunction.
Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or simply seeking to move and feel better, integrative manual therapy can help you regain ease, strength, and confidence in your body.

Integrative manual therapy is an evidence-informed approach that blends the science of anatomy, nervous system function, and intuition to restore alignment, balance, and function across your entire body.
These techniques focus on how your muscles, fascia, joints, and nervous system interact to create (or limit) movement.
Each session is tailored to your needs, integrating manual therapy with Pilates-based movement, cupping, or lymphatic drainage for truly holistic care.
Your treatment may include:
Myofascial Release: Soft tissue techniques that relieve restriction and restore mobility
Joint Mobilization: Subtle movements to improve range of motion and reduce stiffness
Visceral Manipulation: Focused work to support organ mobility and internal balance
Nervous System Regulation: Strategies to balance stress-related inputs to and outputs from body structures like muscles, joints, and nerve pathways
Trigger Point Release: Precise, hands-on pressure techniques that target tight, knotted areas in muscles to relieve pain and restore healthy movement patterns
Clients often notice both immediate relief and lasting improvement in how their body feels and moves after receiving a treatment from Erin.
Manual therapy helps your body respond better to corrective exercises and movement retraining, so the results “stick” instead of symptoms returning a few days later.
For example, if squats cause knee pain, targeted bodywork can relieve the tension or imbalance behind it. Once movement feels pain-free, we can strengthen the surrounding muscles to protect the joint and maintain long-term relief.
You’ may experience relief from:
Chronic pain and tension patterns
Headaches and TMJ discomfort
Back and neck stiffness
Postural imbalances
Scar tissue management
SI joint pain
Stress-related tightness and discomfort
Arthritis-related pain

I created Modern Physio to give women the kind of care I wished I had, care that sees the whole person, not just the symptoms.
With more than 20 years in the health and wellness field, including 17 as a licensed physical therapist and a decade as a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist, I bring a mix of experience and empathy to every session. My training in Pilates, manual therapy, functional medicine, and nervous system regulation helps me look beyond what hurts to uncover why it’s happening.
Here, you’ll never feel dismissed or rushed. You’ll feel seen, supported, and confident in your body’s ability to heal.
Integrative manual therapy works by using hands-on techniques to release tension, improve circulation and lymphatic flow, and restore balance between your muscles, fascia, joints, and nervous system. This approach helps your body move and heal more efficiently by addressing root causes—not just symptoms.
An example of integrative therapy is combining more traditional techniques common in Western medicine like joint or soft tissue mobilization with more alternative healing methods, often common in Eastern medicinal practices such as craniosacral therapy, chakra work, or adding healing frequency music to the mix. It’s the meeting point of the art and science of healing, where traditional physical therapy blends with more progressive and alternative principles, including functional medicine, to support the whole person.
An example of manual therapy is myofascial release, where the therapist uses gentle, sustained pressure on the fascia to relieve tightness, improve movement, and decrease pain. Other examples include joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and trigger point release.
experience how intentional, hands-on care can help your body release tension, restore flow, & return to balance.
