restoring balance through personalized, integrative care

Root cause care that values your story

You’ve tried physical therapy before, but you never felt fully “better.”

You’ve done all the right things, yet your body still feels off.

You’ve even been told your tests look “normal,” but you know something isn’t right.

Every holistic physical therapy session looks at the bigger picture: how your body moves, compensates, and responds to stress.

I combine evidence-based therapy with bodywork, Pilates, and nervous system regulation to help you move freely and feel strong from the inside out.

Together, we’ll uncover what’s driving your pain or imbalance, retrain your body’s movement patterns, and restore the foundation your health depends on.

what is

holistic physical therapy?

Holistic physical therapy looks beyond symptoms to understand how your body’s systems — muscles, nerves, fascia, energy, and environment — work together.

It’s care that restores balance, function, and vitality by treating the whole person, not just the injured part.

Sessions may include:

  • Astym® Therapy: A research-backed, instrument-assisted treatment that stimulates the body’s natural healing response. It’s especially effective for tendinopathies, post-surgical and post-radiation scarring, and performance recovery.

  • Dry Needling: A precise technique using thin needles to release tight muscles, reduce pain, and balance the nervous system.

  • Manual Therapy: Hands-on techniques that relieve restriction, improve alignment, and restore fluid movement throughout the body.

  • Cupping: A gentle method for increasing circulation, reducing muscle tension, and supporting recovery after injury or overuse.

  • Lymphatic Drainage: Encourages natural detoxification and fluid balance, reducing inflammation and promoting overall wellness.

  • Movement Analysis: Identifies compensation patterns, imbalances, and the way your brain communicates with your body, creating the foundation for efficient, pain-free motion.

  • Back Pain Treatment: A specialized method rooted in McKenzie principles, pain science, and brain retraining to target the true source of chronic or recurring pain.

  • Headache and Migraine Relief: Targeted manual and movement-based interventions designed to address cervical, postural, and tension-related causes.

  • Comprehensive Care for Plantar Fasciitis: Whole-body assessment and treatment to restore mobility, reduce pain, and prevent recurrence.

  • Specialized Referrals: When needed, I connect clients with trusted professionals from my curated network of providers, ranging from women’s health and pelvic floor specialists to naturopaths, physicians, mental health therapists, fitness instructors, personal chefs, and more. I take pride in thoughtful, personalized referrals who offer exceptional care.

“Erin is so great! She is so knowledgeable, and I’ve learned more about my body/motor patterns during my eight sessions with her than in any other PT/therapy experience. She’s so good about being thoughtful and creative with the exercises and strategies she uses, and I feel like I’m leaving my sessions with her feeling more equipped than ever to keep my body running at its optimal condition. We worked on a running/knee-related issue, but I would highly recommend her for any physical therapy needs, and I know I’ll come back again if I experience any other issues in the future!”

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes holistic physical therapy different from traditional PT?

Traditional physical therapy often focuses on one are of pain. Holistic physical therapy looks at the whole person and how your entire body works together, addressing quality of movement, nervous system function, stress, hormones, and lifestyle to create lasting results.

Do you take insurance?

Modern Physio is a cash-based, out-of-network practice. I don’t work with or communicate directly with insurance companies, which allows me to provide longer, more personalized sessions without billing restrictions. Payment is collected at the time of service, and HSA or FSA funds are accepted.

What should I wear for my first session?

Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely; leggings, yoga pants, or other flexible athletic wear are perfect. For lower extremity issues (hip, knee, ankle, foot), wearing/bringing shorts for the first visit is recommended.

How much does it cost?

Every woman’s body — and every healing journey — is different, which means no two treatment plans are exactly alike. Your investment depends on the length and frequency of sessions as well as the depth of care we’ll provide. Because I tailor each plan specifically to your needs, we’ll discuss exact pricing during a free consultation call. This ensures that your care feels intentional, transparent, and right for where you are now.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people notice meaningful change within 1–3 sessions, but full, lasting results take more time. Healing and retraining movement patterns happen in layers, and consistency matters. Most clients invest in 10–12 session packages to reach their goals, then continue with a maintenance membership for periodic tune-ups, bodywork, or updated exercise progressions to keep their progress going.
